We are looking for a highly organised and compassionate individual with a strong interest in oncology. We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and efficient executive to join our team and provide comprehensive support to an Oncology Professor and Cancer Specialist. This role will be on a 1-year contract


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant and Budget Management

  • Work closely with Research Office, Finance team, Principle Investigators (PI) for grant applications during grant calls and submission onto the grant application system
  • Post-award activities, which include and not limited to setting up of grant account, monitoring of fund usage, regular reporting to internal and external stake holders (i.e. funding agencies, research office, research director and committee, etc), drafting and submission of grant variation and extension documents, etc.
  • Procurement
    • Assist various PI and study teams in research procurements matters
    • Obtain quotations from vendor, submit requests for issuance of Purchase Order, work with internal/external stakeholders to work out purchase requirements, regulatory issues, delivery arrangements, etc.
    • Submission and monitoring of vendor invoices for payment processing
  • Collate research progress reports from various teams and compile comprehensive summaries for the professor's review.

Other Matters

  • Manage the professor's calendar and schedule appointments, ensuring efficient time management and coordination of meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between the professor and research teams, maintaining effective communication channels to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
  • Assist in organizing and preparing materials for presentations, conferences, and academic publications.
  • Conduct literature searches and gather relevant research articles to aid the professor's work.
  • Assist in managing administrative tasks, including filing documents, organizing data, and maintaining confidential information.
  • Act as a liaison between the professor and patients, maintaining clear and empathetic communication channels.
  • Assist in organising and preparing materials for patient education, conferences, and public outreach activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as life sciences, healthcare administration, or a related discipline.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with patients, research teams, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using productivity tools and software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and scheduling/calendar applications.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of activities in cancer research and/or healthcare is highly desirable.
