Job Description
Overview
The Educational Psychologist is required to provide psychometric assessments and intervention programmes for outpatients within the Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children’s Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI). There will be opportunities to work with children and teenagers (7-19 years old) with medical and/or developmental concerns. The Educational Psychologist works under the supervision of a Senior Educational Psychologist.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- To conduct appropriate psychometric assessments and provide interpretation of results for patients with medical and/or developmental concerns.
- To develop and implement appropriate intervention programmes for patients with medical and/or developmental concerns.
- To contribute, as part of a multidisciplinary team, in the overall care plan for the patient.
- For the Senior Psychologist, to initiate and implement new psychological services with guidance from the Head of Division.
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
- To assist in the development of materials for teaching and training.
- Provide in-service training for department staff as needed.
- Assist senior team members in the provision of specialized teaching and supervision of interns.
- To contribute to team level operational tasks.
- To participate in research projects as a member of the research team, as appropriate.
Requirements
- Master of Psychology, with specialization in Educational or School Psychology, from an accredited university.
- Registered or eligible for registration with a recognized psychological professional body.
- Fresh Master level graduates with relevant work/internship experience prior to/during Masters training.
- For the position of Senior Psychologist, at least 5 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Applicants with clinical training in conducting assessments and/or providing therapy to children and adolescent up to the age of 19.
- A team player who is motivated to provide a high standard of patient care and also able to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
