1) Ward Counter Readiness
- Perform 5S on a daily basis.
- Ensure availability of office stationery.
- Ensure office equipment is in working condition.
2) Counter Duties and Customer Services
- Attend to enquiries and requests from both internal and external customers.
- Render services to both internal and external customers.
- Perform admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Accountable for movement of patient’s thin folder.
- Ensure that services rendered are accurately captured and reflected in the system.
- Perform patient merge if necessary.
- Schedule discharge appointments for patients who require follow-up in JurongHealth Campus and/or external institutions.
3) Financial Counselling and Billing Related Responsibilities
- Perform financial counselling with patients or their spokesperson(s).
- Assist to follow up on patients’ financial documents associated with their inpatient stay.
- Explain to patient and/ or their family member(s) on the charges incurred and provide them with an interim bill (one-bill) upon discharge.
- Collect payment for services rendered and accountable for payment collected.
4) Training and Staff Management
- Preceptor for new Patient Service Associates and conduct on-the-job training.
5) Facilities
- Ensure newspapers/ magazines are up-to-date
- Responsible for reporting any system/ equipment failures
6) Commitment and Decorum
- Displays reliability through regular attendance
- Displays punctuality at work
- Good working relationships with colleagues and peers
- Active participation in roll call
- Adhere to the organisation and department’s house rules, grooming standard and telephone etiquette
7) Statistic
- Assist in data collection for statistical and operational purposes.
8) Process Improvement Project
- Proactive in suggesting service/ process improvement
- Participate in Process Improvement Projects such as Kaizen Projects
9) General
- Participates in corporate events
- Support emergency planning activities
- Ensure 5S standards are adhered to
- Undertake assignments and projects assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum GCE 'N' Levels with 3-5 years of frontline service experience
- Computer literacy in the internet, e-mail and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or customer oriented environment will be an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
