Job Description:

 

As a Resident Physician at NUH Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, you are required to carry out duties as directed by your supervisor and the Head of Division, Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine. You will be working within a team, consisting of specialists and other junior team members (which may include Senior Residents, Residents, Medical Officers and House Officers) in delivering patient-centred care. You shall demonstrate good diagnostic and clinical management acumen and perform any other duties as directed by the Head of Department or the Chairman Medical Board of the Hospital. As a team player, you are encouraged to participate in case discussions, highlight safety and quality improvement opportunities and guide junior staff including House Officers, Medical Officers and Senior Resident Trainees.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • To provide comprehensive and direct patient care under the supervision of your Reporting Officer in various clinical programs - General ID, HIV and Sexual Health, Outpatient Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT), Dengue outpatient management (DOM), Travel Health and Vaccination clinic.
  • To be responsible for the supervision and teaching of junior staff including House Officers, Medical Officers and Senior Resident Trainees.
  • To participate in multidisciplinary collaborations with other specialties and allied health partners in providing holistic management for immunocompromised patients under Haematology-Oncology, Solid Organ and Bone Marrow Transplant, Intensive Care and Post-surgical Units.
  • To participate in weekly team/departmental meetings for continuing medical education (Journal club, Literature reviews, Research updates, Antimicrobial stewardship, Infection control, ID-Radiology discussions and Microbiology rounds).
  • To assist in developing and expanding the scope of service by creating appropriate clinical pathways for different patient profiles.
  • To analyse and identify areas of improvement in services rendered and quality of patient care provided.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Basic medical degree from an accredited medical university or medical school.
  • Must be registered or registrable with the Singapore Medical Council. Please refer to https://www.healthprofessionals.gov.sg/smc/becoming-a-registered-doctor/register-of-medical-practitioners for more information about registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
  • Possess 3 years of post-housemanship clinical experience.
  • Ensure commitment to the conduct of medical ethics and manage any conflict of interest
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention precautions, including Personal Protective Equipment and hospital ART / RRT requirement
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (1st dose, 2nd dose, and booster jab)
