Overview*

The Senior IT Analyst is to provide support and maintenance for LIS and related IT systems in the department, ensuring day-to-day smooth operation. In conjunction with the supervisor, provide team effort in system implementations/upgrades. Handles general LIS administrative responsibilities and assists in IT training programmes for users of systems and software.

Job Responsibilities*

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

1.           Review and make recommendations to optimise LIS functions and contribute to decision making

2.           Contribute to system upgrades and implementations (eg. System validation, testing, documentation)

3.           Monitor and support LIS application (eg. Troubleshoot errors, provide solutions to moderate problems by creative technology/techniques within the project or assignment

4.           Assist the administering of the department's servers, workstation and printers in the LAN environment

5.           Provide simple hardware / software consultative advice to end users of LIS or related systems in the department

6.           Attend intra and inter-department work group discussions on operational, IT related and financial issues

7.           Perform price updates, charge rectification and audits

8.           Coordinate acquisition and implementation of computer items and accessories

9.           Assist with delivery of IT training programmes for users of systems and software

10.         Comply with all requirements of the Laboratory Safety Manual.

11.         Comply to DLM Workplace Etiquette in line with NUHS Core Values.

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (20%)

1.           Provide operational support for internet/intranet application

2.           Design, develop and maintain small end-user application systems.

3.           Coach LIS team members in their daily system and technical operations

4.           Collate clinical and management information for the department and hospital

5.           Assist to ensure laboratory accreditation compliance in LIS

6.           Perform other assignments as delegated by RO

 

Requirements*

Degree in IT with 2 years of related experience or diploma in IT with 4 years related experience

Degree in Biomedical Science with 4 years related experience or diploma with 5 years related experience, including minimum of 2 years in IT environment

 

Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licenses)

·       Excellent knowledge of LIS application, troubleshooting

·       Good knowledge of laboratory operations and workflow

·       Very good organisational and interpersonal skills

·       Accuracy and meticulousness

·       Good knowledge of data analysis and LAN environment

·       Programming language skills

·       Good knowledge of office software (eg MS Office, email), end user computer setup and troubleshooting
