Job Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advice to various Users/Departments within the NUHS cluster.
- Work closely with the Users/Departments within NUHS cluster, to provide legal advice and assistance on a broad range of contractual and commercial issues.
- Specialist or institutional work group lead including:
- managing all legal support for all legal matters in that specialist or institutional workgroup
- managing legal resourcing within that workgroup
- relationship owner with functional or institutional heads and leads
- dealing with strategic research matters arising from that function or institution
- Draft, prepare and put into place contracts and other documentation, which includes drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiating contracts and other documentation, for a variety of transactions, services, collaborations, projects and new initiatives.
- Prepare and update templates of contracts and other documentation, which includes drafting, reviewing and amending the templates. Provide legal advice and legal opinions for queries and legal issues asked by Users/Departments.
- Where relevant and applicable, to provide advice from a commercial perspective, and take into account commercial feasibility, operational practicability, risks that may arise, financial sustainability and all relevant factors.
- Provide legal advice on the application and interpretation of the law (i.e. common law, written statutes, regulations, guidelines etc).
- Contribute to legal department administrative matters as may be assigned from time to time.
- Any other tasks assigned by the legal leads, Assistant General Counsels, Deputy General Counsel or Group General Counsel.
- Legal Office Projects that may be assigned by the Assistant General Counsels, Deputy General Counsel or Group General Counsel from time to time.
- Mentoring of more junior members of the team.
Job Requirements
- Possess a LLB from a recognised law school and called to the Singapore Bar or other jurisdiction.
- 8 to 14 years’ Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in law firm or in house legal team.
- Strong command of details of relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Good management skills.
- Good team player with the ability to independently advise on day-to-day matters and to lead more complex matters when required.
