Assistant Director (Talent Management and Learning & Development)
(Tengah General and Community Hospital)
In this role, you will oversee both the Talent Management and Learning and Development portfolios in Tengah General and Community Hospital (TGCH). You will take on a supervisory role and drive talent management and leadership & employees’ development strategies for all the job families (Clinicians; Nurses; Allied Health Professionals; Pharmacists; Administration & Ancillary staff), in alignment with TGCH’s business goals and objectives, to drive organisational excellence and build a future ready and agile workforce.
Job Responsibilities
Talent Management
- Work closely with HR Business Partners and Leads of the different job families to identify, groom and position talents for leadership roles.
- Manage the annual Talent Identification and Succession Planning (TISP) exercise for the different job families in TGCH.
- Facilitate the tracking, monitoring and progress update of individual development plans of high potentials.
- Plan, organise and support engagement sessions between senior management leaders and identified high potentials.
- Drive headship appointments across the different job families in partnership with HRBPs.
- Ensure governance, documentation and end-to-end administration of headship appointments.
Learning and Development
- Partner with the Leads of different job families as well as NUHS Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Learning & Development to implement learning strategies for TGCH staff.
- Lead in the planning and delivery of learning programmes for staff’s development and post appraisal interventions as well as promote a culture of continuous learning.
- Work with the Leads of different job families to design and implement innovative learning solutions to cater to specific needs of diverse staff groups to build the required capabilities.
- Identify and manage nomination processes for leadership programmes.
- Plan, coordinate and administer in-house as well as external leadership development programmes.
- Remain updated on trends, tools and best practices on learning and development, including media, approaches and technology.
Job Requirements
- A university degree, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resource, or its related discipline.
- At least 14 years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare learning and development, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas, concepts and proposals clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relations with different stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, quick thinker and an effective problem solver.
- Team-oriented with a high degree of initiative and independence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
