Job Purpose:
The Associate Consultant will provide specialised, holistic, and comprehensive care for midlife women undergoing the menopausal transition. The candidate will be part of SWANS, a Menopause Centre of Excellence dedicated to providing one-stop, evidence-based, multidisciplinary care for conditions affecting midlife women, including menopausal symptoms, weight management, and chronic disease management.
The SWANS team includes gynaecologists specialising in menopausal care, mental health specialists, family medicine specialists from polyclinics, exercise physiotherapists, and dietitians. As an Associate Consultant with specialist qualifications in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or an equivalent recognised specialty, the candidate will support the SWANS team in the management of menopausal symptoms, weight management, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis, and other chronic medical conditions affecting midlife women. The candidate is expected to be up to date in menopausal hormone therapy and other evidence-based interventions approved for the care of menopausal women.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Indicative Duty Allocation
- Clinical care: 70%
- Teaching, mentorship, and research: 30%
Specific Duties
- Deliver specialised and holistic care for midlife women undergoing the menopausal transition, including management of menopausal symptoms, weight management, hyperlipidaemia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis, and other chronic medical conditions.
- Lead outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary consultations, and quality improvement initiatives in support of SWANS as a national Centre of Excellence for menopause care.
- Work closely with other SWANS team members to provide integrated, patient-centred care tailored to the needs of midlife women.
- Consult the Head of Division / Programme Lead on complex cases, including iatrogenic menopause, high-risk patients, and patients with cancer-related menopausal symptoms, and contribute to the implementation of best evidence-based practices in menopause care.
- Participate in teaching, mentorship, and research activities relevant to SWANS, including the training and development of junior staff, medical students, and nurses, and contribute to programme development, evaluation, and quality initiatives.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the level of Associate Consultant and above, as required to support service needs.

- Job Holder: Associate Consultant (Family Physician, Internal Medicine, or equivalent specialist qualifications) and above
Job Requirements
Education, Training, and Experience
- MBBS or equivalent, with completion of relevant specialist training.
- Recognised specialist qualifications in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, MRCP, or equivalent specialist accreditation.
- Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council preferred; conditional registration may be considered where applicable, in line with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Clinical experience in women’s health and menopause care is desirable.
- Candidates with equivalent specialist experience or training may be considered.
