About Department and Purpose of the Position

NUH Pharmacy is establishing and operationalising Singapore's first GMP-compliant sterile drug compounding hub with both cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic drug preparation capabilities under one roof. The hub will produce ready-to-use compounded sterile products, including parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, antibiotic and electrolyte admixtures, and ophthalmic preparations for healthcare institutions across the NUHS and NHG clusters.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a greenfield healthcare operation with significant impact on patient care and healthcare service delivery.

As Senior/Manager, Operations, you will lead key operational, governance and business functions of the Compounding Hub, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant service delivery while supporting the development and growth of a strategic healthcare service.

Working closely with the Head, Compounding Hub, you will drive operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the successful establishment and long-term sustainability of this first-of-its-kind service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead  day-to-day operational, administrative, and business functions of the hub, ensuring GMP-compliant and efficient service delivery across the hub-and-spoke network
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, inventory management, facilities operations and support services to ensure operational readiness and service continuity
  • Develop, implement and monitor operational KPIs, service standards and performance dashboards to drive service excellence and operational efficiency
  • Support development and execution of strategic plans, new services, and operational capability enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory, and organisational requirements, including audit and inspection readiness
  • Develop and manage annual operational budgets, procurement planning, contract management, and financial reporting
  •  Build and maintain effective working relationships with participating institutions, regulators, and service providers
  • Lead business continuity planning, operational risk management and issue resolution activities.
  • Lead, coach and develop a small operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

 

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Healthcare, Science, or a related discipline from a recognised university; advanced degree is an advantage
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Experience in healthcare operations, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sterile compounding services, GMP-regulated facilities or other highly regulated environments will be advantageous
  • Experience in operational readiness, facility commissioning, service implementation, process improvement or greenfield projects is highly desirable
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, project management and financial management skills
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to manage procurement, budgeting, and financial reporting processes
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment
