Manager / Senior Manager / Assistant Director, NUH Global (Education, Consultancy & Alliance)
Role Purpose:
This role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across NUH’s global-facing education, consultancy, partnerships and mission portfolios—namely Global Academy, Global Consultancy, Strategic Alliances, and Global Mission—to advance NUH’s position as a regional academic healthcare hub and trusted global partner.
The role is responsible for shaping NUH’s global capability-building strategy, scaling internationally relevant programmes, strengthening institutional alliances, and ensuring disciplined governance, financial sustainability and reputational stewardship across all global engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Integration
- Set the strategic direction and multi-year roadmap for NUH’s Global Academy, Consultancy, Alliances and Mission portfolios, aligned with NUH’s overall internationalisation and academic health system strategy.
- Ensure coherence and synergy across education, advisory, partnership and mission activities to maximise institutional impact and resource efficiency.
- Translate NUH clinical, academic and operational strengths into scalable global offerings relevant to international health systems.
2. Global Academy (Education & Capability Development)
- Provide oversight of healthcare management education, leadership development and training programmes delivered to international partners under the Global Academy.
- Ensure programmes are academically robust, operationally viable and aligned with NUH’s brand and values.
- Expand fellowship, exchange and leadership platforms that position NUH as a regional centre for healthcare capability-building.
3. Global Consultancy (Advisory & Systems Transformation)
- Lead NUH’s Global Consultancy strategy, including market positioning, service portfolio development and quality assurance.
- Oversee delivery of consultancy engagements with overseas hospitals, health systems and ministries, ensuring outcomes-driven, ethically governed and financially sustainable projects.
- Ensure strong governance over contracting, fees, risk management and compliance with NUH/NUHS policies.
4. Strategic / Global Alliances
- Develop and steward strategic institutional alliances with international hospitals, universities, health authorities and multilateral partners.
- Oversee alliance frameworks, fellowship networks and collaborative platforms (e.g. academic, leadership, innovation or systems pilots).
- Ensure alliances deliver clear strategic value, reciprocity and long-term institutional benefit to NUH.
5. Global Mission & Outreach
- Provide leadership over NUH’s Global Mission initiatives, including community health missions, health system strengthening and capability transfer programmes in the region.
- Ensure missions are aligned with NUH’s values, clinical governance standards and reputation.
- Balance humanitarian objectives with sustainability, staff welfare and institutional priorities.
6. Governance, Risk & Institutional Stewardship
- Ensure all global education, consultancy and partnership activities comply with NUH/NUHS governance frameworks, including agreement review, fee management, conflict of interest and overseas travel policies.
- Act as a key institutional steward of NUH’s global reputation, managing sensitivities across jurisdictions, partners and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on portfolio performance, risks, opportunities and strategic issues.
7. Financial & Operational Accountability
- Oversee budgeting, revenue generation, cost control and financial sustainability of the global portfolios.
- Ensure appropriate resourcing, team capability development and staff welfare across the Global Academy, Consultancy, Alliances and Mission teams.
8. Stakeholder & Senior-Level Engagement
- Represent NUH in high-level engagements with international partners, government agencies, multilateral organisations and academic institutions.
- Support CEO and senior leadership in shaping NUH’s global narrative and positioning.
Key Competencies & Experience:
Essential
- Senior leadership experience in healthcare, academic medicine, health systems or international programmes.
- Proven track record in international partnerships, education, consultancy or system-wide initiatives.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to operationalise complex, multi-country initiatives.
- High governance acumen, particularly in risk, compliance and institutional reputational management.
Desirable
- Experience working with overseas hospitals, ministries of health or multilateral partners.
- Familiarity with healthcare education, leadership development or management consultancy models.
- Exposure to global health, capacity-building or mission-oriented programmes.
