Senior/ Centre Manager, NUHS Early Career Guidance Centre (2 years contract)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and personable Career Development Program Manager to lead the planning, logistics, and execution of initiatives for our Early Career Guidance Centre. Reporting to the Centre Director, and working with others, you will be responsible for ensuring our programs run smoothly and effectively support early-career healthcare professionals in their development journey.
Key Responsibilities
- You will design and implement comprehensive programming for early-career professionals, from support to orientation programs and skills workshops, to mentorship initiatives and professional development series. This includes conducting needs assessments, establishing timelines, collating datasets and creating evaluation frameworks to measure program effectiveness.
- You will also manage all operational aspects of centre activities, together with a team member. You will coordinate schedules across multiple departments, manage venue bookings and technology requirements, organize events, maintain program calendars, and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
- You will serve as a liaison between the centre and various hospital departments, building relationships with department heads, clinical supervisors, HR, external speakers, and partner institutions.
- You will also manage registration, and ongoing communication with our community – students, junior doctors, etc
- Creating a supportive environment where our stakeholders feel heard and valued is essential, as is your ability to engage in meaningful conversations about career development and connect students with appropriate resources.
- You will mentor and collaborate with a junior team member, providing guidance, delegating tasks appropriately, monitoring progress, and modeling best practices in engagement and project management to ensure consistent service delivery across the team.
- Additional responsibilities include developing and monitoring program budgets, managing vendor relationships, maintaining accurate records of program participation and outcomes, collecting and analyzing feedback, preparing regular reports on program metrics, and developing systems and processes to ensure quality and accountability in all centre activities.
- As required, you will also participate in the support of talent development activities in collaboration with specific institutional programmes and offices within NUHS, on recommendation of the ECG-C director.
Required Qualifications
- You should hold a Bachelor's degree in administration, education, human resources, or a related field, along with 8-10 years of progressive experience in program management, event planning, or operations, preferably in healthcare or educational settings. You must demonstrate proven success managing complex, multi-faceted projects from conception through completion.
- Strong interpersonal skills are paramount. You have proven experience engaging effectively with highly educated, articulate individuals through active listening, thoughtful questioning, and tailored guidance.
- Exceptional follow-through and reliability are essential. You ensure seamless handoffs between team members, and maintaining accountability for all aspects of program delivery. Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are required.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with program management software and Microsoft Office Suite, financial management experience including budget development and monitoring, and experience mentoring or supervising junior staff. The ability to work autonomously, proactively and collaboratively is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare system environment is highly valued, as is familiarity with early-career professional development or graduate medical education.
- Project management certification, experience with learning management systems and event management platforms, knowledge of healthcare workforce trends, demonstrated cultural competency, and experience working with medical residents, fellows, or other healthcare trainees are all advantageous.

Working Conditions
This is a Contract Full-Time position, with occasional evening or weekend hours required for events and programs. Some travel may be necessary for conferences or off-site events.
