Overview of Position

Provides technical support and assistance to the doctors during Electrophysiology procedures and pacemaker device implantation. Provide device interrogation to patients during device clinics. Evaluate and review remote transmission alerts. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Assist electrophysiologist during electrophysiology procedures and implantation
  2. Demonstrate proficiency with the setup and operation of all equipment associated with cardiac electrophysiology procedures 
  3. Analyse and interpret cardiac data and ECG
  4. Perform device checks and troubleshoot 
  5. Evaluate and review remote transmission and provide a summary of preliminary findings
  6. Perform non-echo related procedures such as treadmill ECG, tilt table, holter, 24hr BP monitoring test etc.
  7. Ensure good coordination and communication with the doctors during procedure
  8. Ensure right setup of the lab before the procedure
  9. Good knowledge in interpreting reports and electrocardiogram
  10. Familiarize with the different programmer setup and troubleshoot if necessary        

Secondary Responsibilities

  1. Participate in service improvement projects.
  2. Promote and maintain a harmonious working relationship amongst department staff and doctors.
  3. Attend in-service lectures, courses and seminars.
  4. Demonstrate awareness of current clinical and healthcare practices.
  5. Demonstrate proper and economical use of consumables and supplies.
  6. Adhere to hospital’s policies and procedures.
  7. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by superior.

 

Requirements

Qualification Required and Area of Discipline

Degree in Medical Technology/Biomedical Science/Biotechnology/Life Science or equivalent with at least 2 years related work experience preferred.
