Job Title: NUHS Associate Trainer
Job Purpose
The Associate Trainer is responsible for the design, development, and facilitation of the “WeCare and Values” training programme at the National University Health System (NUHS). This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing cultural competence and fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture, especially for new staff across NUHS institutions. The position significantly contributes to embedding NUHS' core values into daily practices and shaping a culturally competent workforce
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Design and Development
- Design and develop a comprehensive “WeCare and Values” training programme that aligns with NUHS values and is contextualised for the healthcare environment.
- Develop engaging, interactive learning materials that promote knowledge retention and application.
- Use a variety of learning methodologies and tools to address diverse learning styles and ensure training impact.
2. Training Facilitation
- Deliver engaging and impactful training sessions to healthcare professionals across different job families.
- Facilitate discussions and experiential learning activities that promote cultural awareness, inclusivity, and psychological safety.
- Tailor facilitation techniques to accommodate participants’ backgrounds and levels of understanding.
- Cultivate a safe, open, and respectful learning environment for the exploration of cultural topics.
3. Content Research and Development
- Conduct research into cultural trends, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues, and healthcare best practices to inform content development.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and operational teams to contextualise case studies and real-life scenarios.
- Regularly update and refresh training content to stay aligned with current cultural landscapes, policy changes, and organisational priorities.
Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in training design and facilitation, preferably in healthcare or culture-related fields
- Strong understanding of cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
- Excellent instructional design skills with the ability to create engaging learning experiences
- Superior facilitation skills with the ability to handle sensitive topics and manage group dynamics
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of NUHS healthcare industry and its unique cultural challenges is a plus
