Job Description:
Leadership Management
- Provide visionary leadership to nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and development of nursing personnel, ensuring the highest standards of clinical competence and professionalism.
- Establish clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for nursing staff, and provide regular feedback and coaching to support their growth and success.
Clinical Oversight
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other department heads to develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in nursing practice, patient safety, and quality improvement.
- Monitor patient outcomes, clinical indicators, and patient satisfaction metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
- Acts as a resource person to nurse manager /clinician/educator on clinical nursing and nursing training matters and issues for the specialty.
- Leads in the implementation of best evidence to patient care and nursing practices.
- Develops and evaluates practice policies and guidelines and nursing standards in consultation / collaboration with specialty nurses, nurse managers and doctors.
Quality Improvement
- Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, clinical outcomes, and the patient experience.
- Conduct regular audits, reviews, and performance evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
- Engage nursing staff in quality improvement projects, promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.
Education and Training
- Develop and implement comprehensive orientation, training, and continuing education programs for nursing staff to ensure competency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication to enhance care coordination and clinical outcomes.
Hospital Setup
- Play a key role in the setup and operationalization of nursing services for the new hospital, including staffing plans, workflow design, and policy development.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and facility planners to ensure the integration of nursing units and infrastructure with clinical best practices and patient-centered care models.
- Establish systems and processes for inventory management, equipment procurement, and infection control to support safe and efficient nursing operations from the outset.
Infection Control Expertise
- Provide expert leadership in infection prevention and control, ensuring adherence to evidence-based standards and policies. Optimize resource allocation including facilities, training programs, and materials while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across all departments.
- Drive continuous improvement in infection prevention compliance throughout TGCH.
- Coordinate emergency response, outbreak preparedness, investigation, and containment measures.
- Develop comprehensive infection prevention frameworks and assess organizational needs.
Core Functions
Advisory Services: Expert guidance on infection prevention matters.
Data Management: Collect, analyze and maintain IPC surveillance data.
Quality Assurance: Conduct systematic audits including hand hygiene and environmental assessments.
Education & Training: Design targeted infection control programs for all staff levels.
Committee Coordination: Facilitate Infection Control Committee meetings and strategic planning.
Policy Development: Create and update infection prevention SOPs.
Competency Management: Oversee specialized training including PPE protocols and staff orientation.
Regulatory Support: Participate in audits and licensing processes.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, with Advanced Diploma in Infection Control or relevant infection control certification being preferred.
- Registered as a State Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board.
- Possess a valid BCLS certificate.
- Minimum with 5 years of clinical practice as a Registered Nurse, with prior experience in Infection Control.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, quick thinker and an effective problem solver.
- Team-oriented with a high degree of initiative and independence.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relations with different stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude and determination to ensure required outcomes are achieved and takes responsibility.
