At NUH Child Development Unit, we see children under 7 years old with developmental, learning or behavioral concerns. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that is committed to provide holistic care for children and their families based on a family-centered and community-based approach. We are seeking a strong candidate to fill a full-time position, to deliver services for children in an outpatient, clinic-based setting. You will be responsible in conducting assessment and providing intervention for patients referred for Pediatric Occupational Therapy and management of specialized workgroup or programs. He/she should enjoy collaborative working as part of a team in delivering patient-centered care and be driven to support or lead clinical and quality improvement initiatives. He/she should also be motivated to learn and grow personally, as well as to contribute to the growth of others and the team as whole.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients referred for occupational therapy and implement appropriate treatment plans independently
  • Implement customized intervention for children and their families effectively and safely
  • Provide appropriate information, education and support to parents on home follow-up program and learning opportunities for parents to embed into daily living between therapy visits
  • Document occupational therapy records accurately and write reports as required
  • Plan and run group therapy programs with allied health team members
  • Deliver caregiver education through individual coaching and workshops
  • Comply with clinical and service standards
  • Contribute to clinical research projects as required
  • Practice within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor/other healthcare professionals when appropriate
  • Participate in clinical education programs for Occupational Therapy students
  • Contribute to departmental in-service training programs, hospital educational talks

Requirements

  • Recognized Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered or eligible for full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Patient-centeredness
  • Positive and collaborative team member
  • Competent in IT (Microsoft Excel / Word / Powerpoint)
  • Experience in Paediatrics will be an added advantage
