Occupational Therapist*
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients referred for occupational therapy in various clinical settings.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Assesses and manages patients referred for occupational therapy independently and implements appropriate treatment plans.
Reports to referring doctor and other members of the medical team.
Documents patient occupational therapy records accurately.
Charges patients accurately.
Performs registration of new patients.
Updates individual performance statistical records regularly.
Complies with clinical and service standards.
Practices within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
Secondary Responsibilities
Collaborates with other healthcare members and participate in case conferences.
Assists in the supervision of Therapy Assistants in the workgroup.
Participates in departmental QIP and other activities.
Assists senior in inventory checks and upkeep of equipment and work area.
Contributes to departmental inservice training programmes.
Actively updates occupational therapy knowledge and skills.
Requirements
At least local Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Service oriented and customer focused.
Result oriented.
Team worker and also able to work independently.
Competent in IT skills (Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / Powerpoint).
