Occupational Therapist*

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment and management of patients referred for occupational therapy in various clinical settings.

Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
 Assesses and manages patients referred for occupational therapy independently and implements appropriate treatment plans.
 Reports to referring doctor and other members of the medical team.
 Documents patient occupational therapy records accurately.
 Charges patients accurately.
 Performs registration of new patients.
 Updates individual performance statistical records regularly.
 Complies with clinical and service standards.
 Practices within areas of professional competence and seek clinical support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

Secondary Responsibilities
 Collaborates with other healthcare members and participate in case conferences.
 Assists in the supervision of Therapy Assistants in the workgroup.
 Participates in departmental QIP and other activities.
 Assists senior in inventory checks and upkeep of equipment and work area.
 Contributes to departmental inservice training programmes.
 Actively updates occupational therapy knowledge and skills.

Requirements
 At least local Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy.
 Good communication and interpersonal skills.
 Service oriented and customer focused.
 Result oriented.
 Team worker and also able to work independently.
 Competent in IT skills (Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / Powerpoint).
