Job Purpose: The Pharmacy Assistant/Technician will perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in NUH.
Job Description:

Pharmacy Operational duties
-
Processing medication orders
-
Picking, packing and labeling of medicines in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP)
-
Perform the following medication reconciliation steps: counting, sorting and typing of prescriptions
-
Perform billing functions
-
-
Provision of quality customer service
-
Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers
-

Inventory Management
-
Review and update inventory level base on consumption on a regular basis
-
Oversee storage conditions, expiry checks, audits and reporting of defects of drug products within the institutions
-
Plan and ensure that cycle counts and stock take are conducted accurately and accordingly to the Standard Operating Procedures

Sterile and Non-sterile Manufacturing (Laboratory & Cancer Centre Pharmacy)

Prepare sterile and non-sterile products which include:
-
Total parental nutrition bags
-
IV admixtures and infusions
-
Extemporaneous eye drops, cream, ointment and mixture
-

Process sterile and non-sterile products prescriptions/orders:
-
Assemble medication, supplies, and equipment and compound products according to set procedures.

Ensure double-checking of all prepared products before leaving laboratory

Ensure products manufactured by pharmacy follow quality control requirements

Package end products including affixing of auxiliary labels

Job Requirements:
-
Possess Certified Pharmacy Technician Course (CPTC) OR Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science OR foreign Pharmacy degree (not recognised by Singapore Pharmacy Council) OR Diploma in any Discipline (if applying under Pharmacy Assistant track)
- 1 to 2 years of working experience under Pharmacy Technician track
- Have initiative and able to work independently to achieve goals of Department
- Able to communicate effectlively and function effectively as member of a team
- Able to prioritise and organise work well
