As a Psychologist Associate, he/ she is required to assist in providing an array of psychological services (administering and scoring selected psychometric assessments, conducting basic intervention and conducting group programmes) to cases within the Child Development Unit of the Department of Paediatrics. He/ She will assist in data collection and analysis to support research and inform psychoeducational programmes. The Psychologist Associate works under the supervision of a Psychologist.
Job Responsibilities:
- To conduct appropriate psychometric assessments (selected) and result interpretation for referred patients, in consultation with and supervision from a psychologist.
- To accurately document assessment findings and make appropriate recommendations, in consultation with and supervision from a psychologist.
- To plan, implement and evaluate basic intervention for referred patients and co-conduct group programmes with psychologists.
- To assist in data collection and analysis for the conceptualisation of new programmes and development of programme materials.
- To provide in-session support to psychologists during assessments and intervention sessions.
- To coordinate group programmes and talks for department.
- To contribute to team level operational tasks.
- To participate in research projects as member of the research team.
- To assist in the development of materials for teaching and training.
- To develop materials and conduct orientation for interns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
- Having a specialised graduate certificate / diploma in a specific therapeutic modality such as Applied Behavioural Analysis or Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy would be an advantage.
- Bachelor-level graduates with relevant internship or volunteer experience in the area of special needs and/or have prior experience working with children.
- Experience in research projects.
- A resourceful and proactive individual who is motivated to provide a high standard of patient care.
- Able to work collaboratively with other professionals in a multidisciplinary team and also able to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills.
