Senior Assistant Manager, Group Communications Office
Overview
The NUHS Group Communications Office drives communications strategies and projects at the cluster level for the National University Health System (NUHS). We seek a dynamic team player and self-driven communications practitioner to join our team to support NUHS’ vision as Singapore’s Academic Health System in shaping medicine and transforming care.
The Senior Assistant Manager, Group Communications will assist the full spectrum of digital web marketing/ communications projects and activities as part of the cluster Marketing Communications track. With a focus and specialisation on digital/ web projects and activities, he/she will support the assigned projects and work with other cluster/institution communication teams and/or internal stakeholders within NUHS and with external stakeholders like partners and vendors to execute 360° digital marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Web Strategy Roadmap
- Develop and manage a long-term website roadmap aligned with organisational objectives, digital strategy, and communication priorities.
- Oversee website operations, including maintenance, troubleshooting, user training, and support. Work with stakeholders and website vendors to manage enhancements and stakeholder requirements.
- Communications representative at related governance forums to ensure alignment between business needs and technical planning, as well as provide strategic guidance and recommendations.
Web Strategy and User Experience
Website Governance, Content Management and User Experience
- Drive continuous improvements in website usability, navigation, and overall user experience. Conduct user requirements analysis for new features and enhancements, and leading user acceptance testing (UAT) for system updates.
- Conceptualise wireframes, design layouts; and develop responsive, user‑friendly web pages to support organisational/ communication needs. Manage internal stakeholders to support day‑to‑day content updates and the development of new webpages.
- Create, curate and update web content, including digital graphics, visual assets and editorial copy to ensure the site remains current and engaging.
- Maintain website SOPs and operational documents, such as content governance guidelines, branding and editorial guides, user training materials, and access matrixes. Conduct regular content audits for accuracy, compliance with brand and governance standards, and consistency in content quality.
Analytics and Insights
- Develop regular reporting using GA4, analysing web traffic and engagement metrics; share actionable insights with content owners, IT teams, and senior management to optimise content performance.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify digital trends, benchmark best practices. Implement improvements to align the website with industry-leading standards.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Partner design and web development vendors to optimise user experience and ensure effective use of design components across desktop and mobile.
- Key liaison for all website-related needs, ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders and functional teams.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure technical feasibility, infrastructure readiness, system integrations, accessibility standards and security compliance. Consolidate and translate business requirements for IT, especially when integrations involve enterprise systems or cross‑platform workflows.
Search Engine Optimisation
- Lead and execute SEO initiatives including on‑page, off‑page, and technical SEO to improve Search Engine Results Page (SERP) rankings and drive sustained organic traffic growth.
- Partner external SEO agencies and website developers to implement comprehensive SEO recommendations, including keyword and search‑trend analysis; content research; on‑page SEO copywriting, content optimisation and publishing; off‑page link‑building activities; and resolve technical SEO issues.
- Adherence to SEO best practices, with ongoing maintenance of metadata hygiene (e.g., meta descriptions, image alt text, title tags) with continual keyword monitoring and research to optimise content relevance and search visibility.
Special Projects (Digital, Marketing Communications)
- Communications Representative to support the implementation of other NUHS digital projects/ applications as assigned to ensure consistency of the corporate identity, as well as provide strategic guidance and recommendations.
- Support Group Communications Department projects as assigned, including secretariat and administrative duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Communications, Digital Marketing, Computing or a similar discipline.
- 5 years’ experience of relevant working experience (i.e. in digital content production and communications and/ or digital project management).
- Strong writing/ editorial skills with excellent command of the English language.
- Proven experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. SiteFinity, SharePoint and Adobe Experience Manager, etc).
- Has strong knowledge or working experience using Google Analytics 4 (being certified is a plus).
- Has working knowledge in SEO principles, Google Search Console and UX/UI.
- Has in-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
- Tech savvy with knowledge or proficiency in HTML, CSS and/or JS is a plus.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of design software is a plus. (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Figma etc).
- Has strong interest in the web landscape and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest web trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe PDF.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and tight timelines.
- Good interpersonal skills, team player who can work with different stakeholders.
