Senior Assistant Manager, Research Office (2 years contract)

Overview
Support research performance reporting and develop knowledge management systems within NUHS research office. The staff will be part of the knowledge management unit that looks at the management of research performance indicators across NUHS but will primarily be responsible for supporting research compliance data tracking and management.

Key Responsibilities

Research Compliance

  • Responsible for research compliance and risk register databases
    1. Work with the various stakeholders to obtain, maintain and refine the research compliance database and ensure that the data is accurate and up to date.
    2. Support data requests and provide timely updates
    3. Analyse research output for benchmarking purpose as well as reporting to senior management
    4. Develop and prepare reports for various stakeholders including departments and senior management 
    5. Implement automation to reduce routine manual manipulation and data cleaning activities
  • Develop research compliance dashboard
    1. Develop research compliance dashboards that allow for easy visualization of indicators at various levels
    2. Develop a self-service module for departments
  • Manage the annual research declaration exercise
    1. Lead the data preparation of data for declaration exercise
    2. Support the communication efforts and work to simplify the process for the researchers
    3. Manage the declaration returns and work with the team on the required follow ups.
  • Facilitate publicity and profiling of significant research achievements

Publications & Bibliometric Support

  • Track research publications output and compute publication metrics of NUHS staff

Institutional & Strategic Support

  • Conduct and support the Total Performance Management (TPM) cycle through timely preparation and submission of research performance data
  • Contribute to the profiling and publicity of high-impact research achievements through data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, research office and institution partners to benchmark performance and identify areas of improvement

Requirements

  1. A good Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Science, Biomedical, Health Science, Engineering, Information Studies, Library Science, Business Analytics, Data Science or Computer Science.
  2. At least 3 to 5 years relevant experience in research management/administration or related industry experience in the HBMS sector or relevant experience in research management, analytics, or bibliometrics within an academic, research of healthcare setting.
  3. Proficient in data analysis tools such as R, Python, Power Query, SQL
  4. Experience with data visualisation and visualisation tools (eg Power BI, Tableau)
  5. Skilled in using Excel for analysis and visualisation
  6. Able to work independently and acquire necessary knowledge to perform tasks effectively.
  7. Strong analytical thinking and attention to details and timeline
  8. Good interpersonal skills and team player
