Senior Assistant Manager/Manager, Research Office (2 years contract)
The Senior Assistant Manager/Manager supports the strategic planning, administration, and governance of research programmes and research funding initiatives across the NUHS ecosystem. The incumbent will work closely with academic leaders, researchers, administrators, finance teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate the effective management of translational research programmes, institutional grant schemes, advisory panels, and research support services.
The role is responsible for coordinating programme reviews, managing research grants and funding processes, driving process improvements, supporting research governance requirements, and enhancing research administration services to enable high-quality research outcomes across NUHS.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate institutional research programmes and strategic research initiatives, including programme reviews, advisory board activities, and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the administration of internal research grant programmes, including grant calls, proposal reviews, funding recommendations, award administration, and post-award processes.
- Facilitate grant and research account administration processes, including account setup, fund disbursement, monitoring, and coordination with finance and institutional stakeholders.
- Maintain and update grant-related resources, calendars, intranet content, and communication materials to ensure accessibility of research information.
- Develop, review, and streamline research administration workflows, policies, templates, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, or other relevant disciplines
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in research administration, programme management, grants management, or related areas.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in coordinating multiple workstreams and managing competing priorities.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
