The Finance Controllership team manages the accounting function and processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the hospital’s financials.  The team works closely primarily with operational teams and shared services to meet their object:

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Together with NUHS Centres of Excellence and Finance Shared Services:
    • to ensure correct and smooth monthly closing process in line with NUHS/NUH requirements.
    • address statutory reporting and audit requirements; financials meet latest IFRS updates.

 

  • Manage respective operational finance processes such as:
    • Fixed asset management ie:
      • Lead and execute fixed asset verification exercises, ensuring accuracy of asset registers and compliance with organisational policies and accounting standards.
      • Develop and maintain strong business partnerships with asset custodians, providing guidance on proper asset management and accountability.
      • Monitor and review fixed asset movements, disposals, and impairments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

 

  • Oversee operational expenditure including accruals.

 

  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Monitor and review accounts receivable balances and ageing to ensure accurate financial reporting.

 

  • Review purchase requisitions and orders.

 

  • Reviewing and analysing reporting financial data.

 

  • Assist in new processes and system implementation when required.

 

  • Ensure a strong culture of corporate governance by working closely with internal and external auditors and partnering stakeholders to close audit issues promptly.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Degree in relevant Accountancy, Business of Finance.

 

  • At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience.

 

  • Experience in healthcare sector or SAP will be an advantage.

 

  • Be a team player and partner multi-disciplinary colleagues.

 

  • Organised and detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel (advanced), PowerPoint and Word.
