Overview

 

Reporting to the Head, Integrated Communications Section, the incumbent will coordinate NUH's volunteer programme and support the end-to-end volunteer journey, from recruitment and onboarding to deployment, engagement, recognition and retention. Working closely with volunteers, departments and community partners, the role helps create meaningful volunteering opportunities that support patient experience, staff and the hospital's care mission.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, screening, onboarding, orientation and role matching, including maintaining clear volunteer role descriptions.
  • Plan and coordinate volunteer deployment across clinical and non-clinical programmes, working closely with departmental supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, attendance, service hours, training status and programme documentation.
  • Develop volunteer engagement, communication, learning, recognition and retention initiatives.
  • Build relationships with internal departments, community organisations, schools and corporate partners to support volunteer programmes.
  • Support volunteer governance, safety, confidentiality, policy implementation and continuous improvement.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience in volunteer management, community engagement, healthcare, social services, events or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programmes and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good data management and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools.
  • Service-oriented, empathetic, resourceful and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with volunteers or community programmes would be advantageous.
