The Opportunity
The jobholder is responsible to provide administrative support to the infection control nurses in the implementation of infection control programs with the aim of providing a safe environment to prevent and control infection; he/she maintains infection control statistics and databases. He/she abides by NUHS core values, puts patients first, and works closely with partners including families, volunteers and organizations. Additional duties and responsibilities can be assigned to meet any changing conditions as appropriate.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES – 80%
- Schedules meetings and reserves room venues.
- Writes minutes for Infection Control Nurses (ICN) and Infection Control Link Nurses (ICLN) meetings.
- Coordinates refreshment orders; liaises with inhouse kitchen services/ external caterer for meetings and hospital events.
- Assists and conducts PPE training / mask fitting and Hand Hygiene audits for new hires.
- Disseminates circulars, memos, other information and maintains files.
- Answers phone calls, handles enquiries, conveys messages
- Maintains Infection Control’s web pages in the intranet.
- Sends emails to various departments regarding mask fitting exercises/infection control programmes.
- Takes charge of logistics; orders for department’s supply.
- Inputs data and maintains confidential databases for IC programmes.
- Tracks and ensures documents that require action are available for timely submission of responses.
- Follows up with monthly statistics and other reports.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES – 20%
- Participates in hospital and infection control projects; including the logistics with relevant departments and staff.
- Participates in workgroup to improve infection control practices across Nursing departments.
Requirements
- GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ Level
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines
- Good analytical and organization skills
- Excellent communication, problem solving, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skill
