About Department and Purpose of the Position
The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager will work with the surgical champions for National Surgical Quality Improvement Programme (NSQIP), a surgical benchmarking tool, at the Department of Surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and benchmarking of procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- Work with clinician champion to identify surgical patients for inclusion in the Program through the application of Programme.
- Collect preoperative, operative, and postoperative data components for the Programme through the effective utilization of the hospital medical record systems.
- Attend weekly Morbidity & Mortality conferences to ensure reliable data collection of postoperative occurrences.
- Identify streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process.
- Demonstrate appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into the Programme.
- Utilize software applications for data collection and analysis.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into the programme’s database and meets the caseload accrual requirement protocol.
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
- Assist to drive process improvements and streamline workflows to ensure efficient operations and process flow for patient care journey.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by reporting officer.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
- Nursing or medical background is preferred
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft office application, specifically in MS Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook.
- Meticulous attention to detail is critical for accurate data abstraction.
- Proficiency in specialized data collection tools, data entry, and understanding of basic statistical principles is crucial.
- A basic understanding of surgical patient care, common procedure and human anatomy/physiology is preferred.
- Collaboration, problem-solving, and the ability to work in aa team and manage projects and deadlines are valued.
