About Department and Purpose of the Position

The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager (EPIC Specialist) provides functional and application support for the NGEMR EPIC Beacon module, with a focus on oncology workflows. The role supports system configuration, maintenance, enhancement, and user engagement to ensure safe, effective, and compliant use of the EMR system.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with NCIS stakeholders and GMIO on system change requests, enhancements, and workplans
  • Support daily operations of the NGEMR EPIC Beacon module through system analysis, configuration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Gather, document, and validate user requirements in collaboration with clinical and operational users
  • Translate documented requirements to enterprise IT partners (e.g. Synapxe) clearly and accurately
  • Configure and maintain oncology treatment plans, protocols, and related clinical build content in accordance with approved workflows
  • Support system testing activities, including preparation of test scripts, test data, and coordination of user acceptance testing
  • Provide at-the-elbow or on-site support during system go-live and post-implementation stabilization periods
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotas when required, in accordance with operational schedules
  • Adhere to institutional governance, information security, and change management policies
  • Support assigned projects and initiatives led by GMIO or NCIS, as directed by supervisors
  • Represent the team in workgroups or committees when assigned
  • Participate in cross-training and continuous learning to expand system and domain knowledge
  • Contribute positively as a team member and support collaborative working relationships

 

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Informatics, Biomedical Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related healthcare / IT disciplines
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant clinical, healthcare operations, informatics, or EMR-related experience
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, preferably oncology-related
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • EPIC certification (e.g. Beacon or other clinical modules) is preferred
  • Experience supporting EMR build, configuration, or system implementation projects would be an advantage
  • Exposure to healthcare IT governance, change management, and information security practices would be an advantage
