Senior Orthoptist

(Tengah General and Community Hospital)

Job Responsibilities:

• Contribute to planning of Orthoptics services for Tengah General and Community Hospital, including space, design, workflow and manpower considerations.

• Collaborate with clinical, allied health, operational and administrative stakeholders in planning of orthoptics services.

• Assess and manage patients referred for orthoptics assessment independently, implement appropriate treatment plans by applying specialised orthoptics knowledge and skills.

• Coordinate patient care with physicians, allied health professionals and relevant stakeholders. Collaborate in case conferences and appropriate interdisciplinary referral where required.

• Mentor and conduct training session (competency) for junior orthoptist.

• Document clinical assessment and treatment in electronic medical records accurately.

• Network strategically with healthcare practitioners in NUHS.

• Comply with clinical and service standards.

• Assist with administrative duties as tasked

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Orthoptics or equivalent Or Master of Orthoptics

• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience

• Communicate and interrelate effectively in diverse contexts

• Ability to recognise, assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions.

• Adaptability and ability to multi-task and manage time well

• Effective problem solving, planning and organising skills including awareness of resource management.
