Senior / Phlebotomist Assistant, OBS.
Overview
To provide assistance to the Medical Staff by providing venepuncture service for the collection of blood specimens for Laboratory investigations for the patients in NUH.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%) |
1. Performs venepuncture for the collection of blood specimens for dispatch to the laboratory. |
2. Sorts and records all blood specimens collected, and dispatched to the Laboratory. |
3. Practice Universal Precautions throughout the procedure. |
4. Gathers feedback from Clinicians, Staff and Patients on matters concerning workflow improvement. |
5. Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor and Manager. |
6. Comply with DLM Workplace Etiquette in line with NUHS Core Values. |
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (20%) |
1. Assists in improving, identifying and implement changes in the work processes of the Phlebotomy Service. |
2. Orientate and guide new Phlebotomy staff. |
3. Continuously upgrading of skills and techniques. |
Requirements
Qualification Required and Area of Discipline
Higher NITEC or diploma
Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licences)
· Phlebotomist certified by recognised institutions
· At least 2 years’ experience in performing venepuncture
· Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Able to work independently
