Overview
Aside to providing prompt and safe imaging services, Senior Radiographer (AH14) is responsible for the routine management and administration of a section within the department. You will also be responsible for supervising and training radiographers and other staff members to render high quality imaging services.


Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
• Performs duties in general radiography and at least one advanced imaging modality (CT / MRI / Ultrasound / Mammography / Interventional Radiology etc.)
• Administer contrast media for radiological examinations, where required.
• Adheres to safe work practices especially in radiation safety (ALARA principle for all procedures) and infection control.
• Ensures efficient and smooth operation within his/ her section of specialized area and ensures proper usage and care of equipment of the section at all times.
• Ensures quality assurance program are implemented and initiate system or quality improvement within section.
• Plans, organises and prioritises assigned tasks such that all are completed effectively and on time.
• Handles difficult or escalated situations like patients’ complaints and queries within the department / section promptly and effectively.
• Renders prompt response to internal stakeholders.
• Conducts training and coaching of radiographers as main trainer.
• Assists in providing updates or reviewing of departmental imaging protocols.
• Assists to maintain and upkeep section of specialised area with efficient work performance and adheres to corporate standards
• Counsels team members on work related issues.


Secondary Responsibilities
• Participates in two or more departmental program/ portfolio.
• Assists to collate, prepare and analyse data when required.
• Assists in evaluation and purchase of equipment and accessories.
• Performs other assignments as delegated or assigned by reporting officer.

 

Requirements*

• Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) registration.

• Recognized Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.

• 5 years specialised experience in advanced modality CT / MRI / Ultrasound / Mammography / Interventional Radiology etc. preferred.

• Strong self-management and leadership qualities.

• Good analytical and organization skills.

• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

• Customer and service oriented with compassionate and good patient care.

• Ability to work under tight timelines
