About Department and Purpose of the Position
This position involves providing specialised management and technical support for departmental IT systems, particularly the EPIC Beaker Laboratory Information System (LIS). The role holder will spearhead pathology informatics projects and utilise advanced data analytics to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)
- Lead Pathology Informatics initiatives e.g. Predictive Modelling and data structure optimisation.
- Review and make recommendations to optimise LIS functions and contribute to decision making.
- Monitor and support LIS applications.
- Manage Project Change Requests (PCRs) and Operational Service Requests (OSRs). This includes review, deconflict and testing.
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
- Assist to ensure laboratory accreditation compliance in LIS.
- Assist in conducting system administration and compliance for the department.
- Perform other assignments as delegated by LIS Supervisor.
Key Requirements
Qualification Required and Area of Discipline:
Degree in Biomedical Science or related disciplines with 4 years related experience or diploma with 5 years related experience, or Degree in IT with 2 years of related experience or diploma in IT with 4 years related experience.
Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences, and Professional Licenses)
- Knowledge of LIS application, troubleshooting
- Knowledge of laboratory operations and workflow
- Relevant clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred
- Very good organisational and interpersonal skills
- Accuracy and meticulousness
- Good knowledge of data analysis and LAN environment
- Good knowledge of office software (eg MS Office, email), PC setup and troubleshooting
- Programming skills (Access, Visual Basic, Python, etc.)
