Reporting to the Principal Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing quality nutrition and dietetic service to patients residing in the community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adopts a patient-centered approach and principles of the social determinants of health for patient management.
- Provides nutrition assessment, nutrition support, counselling and eucation to patients and carers, individually or in groups (specialised discipline).
- Provides nutrition intervention based on various therapeutic diets through different modes of communication (eg. phone/virtual/home visit/centre visit consultation).
- Reviews nutrition progress and documents patient management (specialised discipline).
- Participates in multidisciplinary team discussion for patient care.
- Organises and participates in delivery of nutrition education programmes for patients, carers, public, community providers and healthcare professionals.
- Act as mentor for junior Dietitians on issues regarding nutrition and Dietetics when applicable.
- Supervise junior Dietitians and/or Dietetic Technician.
- Develops and updates patient education materials for nutrition counselling and education.
- Reviews literature for evidence based nutrition guidelines and update Dietitians.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Leads and participates in approved nutrition related research.
- Facilitates and particpates in continuing professional development to maintain professional standards and technical skills.
- Supervises, guides and assesses students in approved clinical teaching programmes.
- Provides leadership in quality improvement programmes.
- Plans and executes training and orientation programmes for students and new Dietitians.
- Participates in departmental meetings.
- Provides guidance to administrative staff.
- Manage financial issues where applicable.
- Handle customer's feedback and manage complaints.
- Any other administrative and clinical related duties, as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Completed clinical dietetic internships in approved institutions.
- At least 3 years of dietetic experience in public healthcare institutions.
- Ability to apply nutrition/dietetic knowledge to patient management appropriately.
- Basic Financial knowledge in non-financial professionals.
- Familiar with specialised dietetic disciplines.
- Good supervisory and leadership skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge with food service operations.
- Demonstrates practical application of nutrient analysis computer package.
- Ability to plan, conduct and evaluate education sessions.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
